Looking Back Whilst We Look Forward
As we look forward to welcoming students to our 2022 Chiron Summer School, taking place from the 17-23 January in Auckland, we wanted to take the chance to look back and remember some of the wonderful performances and special moments that made up last year’s event.
Taking place in Christchurch, last year’s (2021) Summer School saw forty of New Zealand’s finest young musical talents joined by a passionate teaching faculty headed up by Rae de Lisle (University of Auckland) and Stephen Larsen (Artistic Director, Chiron Group NZ). With a schedule consisting of solo lessons, chamber-music coaching and daily masterclasses, the dedication of both students and staff was inspiring to watch.
With such an intense, fulfilling schedule, events such as our barbecue, stagecraft workshops and Q&A sessions with the tutors made for a great chance for students to unwind and get to know each other. The final day of the course was spent at The Piano – a wonderful venue for a series of solo and chamber-music performances, culminating in our Gala Concert at night! Thank you to all of the students who took part – and to all those joining us in 2022 we can’t wait to creating some all-new memories with you!
