With 19 years of experience in teaching music, I will always be passionate about teaching and learning and thrilled to explore the music world with young minds. I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in China and also gained a University Teacher Qualification Certificate. I was a Lecturer in the Music Department at Sias International University in China. During my tenure, I mainly served as a piano teacher, piano accompanist and chorus conductor, and participated in many opera and musical rehearsals and performances, such as "Shang Shi", "La Traviata" and "Chinese Butterfly. I have served as the judge of the 4th China International Youth Piano Competition, and have been awarded the title of "Excellent Tutor" by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Social and Artistic Proficiency Examination Committee many times.
While working at university, I attended an advanced study of choral conductor under the guidance of Dr. Orlan E.Thomas, Fort Hays State University USA in 2006. I visited Hansei University in South Korea for a Musical Theatre exchange program in 2008. From 2010-2016,I studied piano performance and pedagogy with Chinese-American pianist Yiqiang Sun and participated in many concerts.
Since I moved to New Zealand with my family in 2017, I have been working in music related education, and guiding students to prepare for their exam, concert and competition. Now my education career is not only in general education but also in special education. Music therapy will be my future study direction.
